Twelve Bearcats set for NCAA Indoor Championships

Northwest Missouri State indoor track and field is setting its sights on the NCAA National Championships after qualifiers for the meet were announced.

The Bearcats will send 12 individuals competing in seven events to Birmingham, AL to compete.

On the women's side, Bailey Blake will compete in the 800m along with teammate Delanie Dykes. Jada Shanklin will battle for a medal in the high jump.

For the men's team, Omar Austin headlines the qualifiers. Austin won the MIAA 200m and 400m, and will compete in each at the national meet. He'll also be running in the 4x400m Relay with teammates Caelon Harkey, Gavyn Monday and R.J. Williams.

Harkey and Monday also qualified to run the 400m dash.

Prince Griffin, Abdelrahim Mahgoub, Jacob Norris and Reece Smith will all team up for the distance medley relay. Blake Morgan will also be competing in the high jump.

The NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships are March 11-13.
